eDrugstore MD Retin-A prescription information
Retin-A is a topical prescription acne treatment that can start clearing up skin
in as little as two weeks, with full results after seven.
Directions
This medication should be applied at bedtime, covering the entire affected area
lightly. Wash hands immediately after application. Keep away from eyes, nose,
and mouth. Wait at least on hour before applying cosmetics.
Precautions
It is important that the doctor has your complete medical history. Avoid
excessive exposure to sunlight or sunlamps while using this medication. Consult
with your doctor if you have eczema, sensitivity to sunlight, pregnant, nursing
or other skin conditions.
Side effects
Dryness, redness or peeling may occur during the first weeks of treatment. To
prevent aggravating the skin, protect it from sun, tanning lights, extreme wind
or cold and harsh skincare products. Use of sunscreen is recommended.
Drug interactions
Inform your doctor about all the medicines you use especially sulfur,
resorcinol, benzyl peroxide, or salicylic acid as this may cause significant
skin irritation. Medicines that increase sensitivity to lights such as
tetracycline should not be taken while using this medication. |
